Billieanne McLellan started interpreting in 1994 at a local community college. Since then she has worked in various venues as a freelance interpreter, a staff theater interpreter, in VRS, at church crusades, as an emergency medical interpreting service provider, and a California Disaster Relief Interpreter. She is also a workshop presenter and adjunct ASL professor.
She has been involved with her local RID Chapter, SDCRID, in the following capacities: Certification/ Evaluation Chair, PDC Committee Member, PDC Chair, Ad Hoc Audit Committee Chair, and most recently as SDCRID Treasurer. She also was an interpreter mentor through several cycles of SDCRID’s Mentorship Program. Billieanne served on RID’s ACRC Committee and as the Region V President Council’s Secretary. Now she looks forward to the privilege of being on the RID Board of Directors as RID’s Treasurer.
Billieanne was born, raised, and still resides in San Diego, CA with her husband, two teenage daughters, and three cats. Her family enjoys theater, Disneyland, and Comic Con!
