Provisional Deaf Interpreter Webinar

This is a brief announcement to address questions surrounding the PDI webinar that is scheduled for February 2nd. The RID board was surprised how quickly the slots were filled. From the time we sent out the announcement, all spaces were filled up by the following morning. We did not anticipate this level of demand, and we want to share why this situation occurred. The limited space is the result of our webinar platform. We use GoToTraining for these types of events. This is a part of the GoToMeeting suite, and it allows participants to use their webcams to come on screen to engage with the board, such as asking questions (and getting answers), commenting, and sharing of opinions. The GoToTraining platform that RID is currently using only allows a maximum of 50 people to participate in a live online event. So, when the announcement went out yesterday, the slots filled up very quickly. The webinar will be recorded and available for others to watch shortly after it occurs. Then, anyone who is interested can view the recording. We expect the recording to be available by the 6th of February, and this will be open to everyone. We will continue to investigate different solutions for membership participation. Thank you!
