As Standards and Practices continued to adjust to the new organizational structure during FY 17, we had to take a hard look at our department’s scope of work and make some difficult decisions. While administering our EPS, Certification, GAP, and Compliance programs with limited staff and resources, we realized we needed to reduce our representation to outside organizations in order to refocus attention to new program additions carried over from June of FY 16. In doing so, our processes became more streamlined resulting in more efficieny.
In the last quarter of FY 17, the department experienced an unexpected turnover in staff. This had a definite impact as we wrapped up the year. However, we are committed to keeping our momentum moving forward and are optimistic for FY18!

Explanation of the EPS Flow Diagram
21 cases were carried over from FY16 and there have been 61 new cases for FY17. New cases can either be accepted or rejected if they do not meet the criteria for EPS complaints. After being accepted, some go into mediation, others may go direct to adjudication. Of those that go into mediation, some are resolved, while others are subsequently brought to adjudication, where a violation may or may not be found. Some cases are on hold because of concurrent litigation involving the parties.
