If you have not participated in the Golden 100/Silver 250 program, there is still time. In March, the RID Board approved the launch of the Golden 100/Silver 250 Membership Campaign. The campaign is aimed to support the administrative and development costs associated with a new CDI examination.
The first 100 Certified members who contribute $2,000 will receive Lifetime membership and waived annual fees, along with the Golden 100 member designation.
The first 250 Certified or Associate members who give $1,000 will receive lifetime membership, waived annual continuing education fees and be named a Silver 250 member. This group will still have the annual responsibility to pay for their certification and standards fee (currently $31 for Certified members and $25 for Associate**).
With this campaign, we are hoping to raise $450,000.This program is a great opportunity for members to pledge their commitment to CDI test development and expanding the pool of qualified Deaf interpreters.
The revitalization of this Membership program does not affect any of the previous Golden 100 or Silver 200 members, who purchased this option in the 80s. Members who participated in the original program will not experience a change in any benefits.
**Silver 250 members will have their Certification and Standards fee capped at $50. If fees are raised in future fiscal years, Silver 250 participants will not pay more than $50 yearly for their fee.
