Professional Development Committee Update
Standards and Criteria
For the 2015-2017 volunteer leadership term, part of the scope of work defined for the Professional Development Committee (PDC) is to review the Standards and Criteria (S&C) which was last updated in April 2008. The Standards and Criteria is a manual designed to assist RID Approved Sponsors by outlining the requirements and responsibilities of their sponsorship. The manual now reflects the current practices of the CMP and ACET Program including new technology and operational procedures.
There have been a few notable updates from this review of the S&C that we would like to share with you.
- The document now is updated to reflect the process for Certified members to submit a CMP cycle extension after the December 31st deadline. Certified members can download the form from the RID website and have until June 30th to submit it.
- In addition, the S&C offers a more detailed explanation regarding Professional Studies and the topics including advanced studies of language, culture, human behavior, and specialized studies.
- Lastly, the policy on earning CEUs for an identical activity within the same CMP cycle has been defined. CEUs will be awarded only once during a member’s CMP cycle for an identical activity.
If you have any questions regarding the Standards and Criteria, please contact the Professional Development Department at firstname.lastname@example.org or 703-838-0030, option 7.
