Nomination Process
** There is currently a call for Region Representative nominations open through April 1, 2012.
OFFICIAL CALL FOR REGION REPRESENTATIVE NOMINATIONS
The RID Board of Directors, in compliance with the RID Bylaws, Article IV, issues this call for nominations for the region representative positions.
Positions Open for Nomination: Region representative for each of the five regions.
Qualifications for Office: Certified member in good standing for the four consecutive years immediately prior to candidacy; resident of the region for at least two consecutive years immediately prior to candidacy.
Term of Office: Beginning with election and taking oath of office in 2012 and ending between June 30 and August 30, 2014.
Nominations Deadline: All nominations must be postmarked no later than April 1, 2012. Return to the national office at 333 Commerce Street, Alexandria, Virginia, 22314.
Nominations Procedure: Any voting member in good standing from the region may nominate candidates for this office. Candidates must receive nominating signatures from at least 25 voting members in good standing from the region.
Duties of Region Representatives of RID – excerpts from the RID Bylaws:
Provide reports regarding the activities of the RID Board of Directors, national committees and the national office to each affiliate chapter within his/her region. Provide reports at least quarterly to the board and the national office during meetings. Convene and preside at any regional meetings/conference and teleconference calls and facilitate development of regional activities. Attend
workshops and conferences in the region. Serve as a resource person to affiliate chapter presidents and members within his/her region. Submit regular reports to the association newsletter. Assist affiliate chapters within his/her region in their ability to meet affiliation requirements. Serve as one of the national conference committee core group members and participate in the recruiting the conference chair(s) when the national conference is being hosted in his or her region. Assist
in the annual reviews of the chief executive officer.

General Nomination Information for the RID Board of Directors

An individual must be nominated for office. RID encourages members to nominate those they feel are best qualified to lead the association.

Any voting member in good standing may nominate candidates for office.

Candidates must receive nomination signatures from at least 25 voting members in good standing.

Nominations for the executive board must include at least one member in good standing from each of the five regions.

Nominations for region representatives must receive nominating signatures from at least 25 voting members in good standing from that region.
When more than one person is nominated for a position, an election will be held.
Qualifications for Office
With the exception of the member-at-large position, all members of the RID Board of Directors must be certified members in good standing for at least four (4) consecutive years immediately prior to candidacy. The member-at-large must be a certified and/or associate member in good standing for at least four (4) consecutive years immediately prior to candidacy. Region representatives must be a resident of the region for at least two (2)consecutive years immediately prior to candidacy.
